Teletherapy (Online Counseling)

At Unbound Counseling, we are proud to offer secure, HIPAA-compliant teletherapy services to residents across West Virginia.

Whether you’re at home, on campus, or anywhere in the state, teletherapy makes it possible to access the care you need — without the commute.

What is Teletherapy?

Teletherapy (also called telehealth or online counseling) is just like in-person therapy — but we meet by secure video instead of face to face in the office. You’ll connect with your therapist from a private space of your choice, using your phone, tablet, or computer.

We use a HIPAA-compliant video platform to protect your privacy, and we are here to help you feel comfortable navigating it.

Who is Teletherapy For?

Teletherapy is available for:

  • Adults, adolescents, and children (with parental involvement as needed)

  • Individuals, couples, and families

  • Anyone living in the state of West Virginia

(Due to licensing, you must be physically located in West Virginia (or another state in which one of our therapists are licensed) during sessions — this does not include short-term travel.)

Why Choose Teletherapy?

  • Convenience: Skip the drive — join from home, work, or school.

  • Flexibility: Find appointment times that fit your schedule.

  • Accessibility: Get connected, even if you live in a rural area or have mobility limitations.

  • Comfort: Meet from a space that feels safe and familiar to you.

What Do I Need for Teletherapy?

  • A phone, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone

  • A reliable internet connection

  • A private, quiet space where you feel comfortable talking

If you’re unsure how to set up your device or join your first session, we’re happy to help walk you through it.

Switching Between Teletherapy and In-Person

Many of our clients choose a blended approach, moving between in-person and online sessions depending on their needs. We are flexible — let us know what works best for you.
