Alayna Gruss is a Licensed Professional Counselor.

She is licensed in West Virginia

Her primary focus is working with children, adolescents, and adults (age 30 and under).

Some of her clinical interests are play interventions with younger clients, complex trauma and PTSD, depression, anxiety, life adjustment, identity development, family/parenting dynamics, and body image/body trust.

Alayna’s clinical interests derive from person-centered therapy and attachment theory. She strives to create a warm and trusting environment in which clients feel empowered to share their most authentic stories.

Alayna says, “as a therapist, I find it is my role to tailor the therapeutic journey to each client, incorporating play, humor, and creativity.

She also uses interventions from strengths-based CBT, Choice Theory, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

She is trained in EMDR and is currently working towards a certification in Child-Centered Play Therapy with Neurorelational Emphasis.

“When not providing therapy, I enjoy trying new coffees, reading and attending book clubs, hanging with my girly bestie group, thrifting with my boyfriend, baking, and visiting my family in Pennsylvania.”
