Emily Poznanski is a Provisionally Licensed Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor.
She has a Masters of Arts in Counseling from West Virginia University.
Emily has experience working in behavioral health agencies and crisis residential units.
She is licensed in West Virginia
Emily’s primary focus is working with adolescents and adults (ages 15-50).
Some of her clinical interests are depression, anxiety, addiction and substance use concerns, adjustment, trauma, relationship concerns, stress management, and codependency.
Emily uses approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Strengths-Based Theory, Reality Therapy, Mindfulness-Based interventions, and EMDR.
With empathy, support, and some humor Emily assists her clients to a path of clarity.
She places a strong focus on building a helping relationship with her clients, as she believes the therapy relationship is one of the biggest pieces in change.
She fosters a supportive and encouraging environment where her clients feel free to open up and fully express themselves.
During Emily’s free time, she enjoys spending time with nature, hiking, exploring new places, drinking lots of delicious coffee, and spending time with the people she loves - including her sweet Husky, Ace and her sassy kitty, Illa.
